Pemphigus

Does anyone know about this?
We're looking to rehome an older dog after our darling girl died three weeks ago. New pup is gorgeous and has managed pemphigus which the shelter tells us is managed with low dose steroids. Any advice or cautionary tales?

Not a lot of experience with pemphigus but saw it in a clients dog.

They had skin lesions that flared up and nasty looking ulcers around their nose. They were on steroids which did affect behaviour which is why I say them.

The dog did go on to get cushings disease which the owner put down to being on the steroids I have on idea if this was true.

I would approach with caution and really quiz the rescue. Will they pay for treatment of will that be down to you for the dogs lifetime. It will have an impact of some sort just depends how large and if it is an issue for you.
