What do you use under dogs water bowl?

There's always a puddle under ddogs water bowl and it's really annoying. I know someone with a neater feeder which seems great-but expensive for a large one. Are there any bargain buys that work? Thanks.

I have three hand towels that match my hallway decor that go under the dogs bowls.
They get chucked in the machine each evening before the daily wash goes on.

We use a turtle mat. I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives but it is perfect. It stops it moving around in the floor, and soaks up spillage.

I use a doormat, like the turtle mat ones but a cheaper version as it's just for the dog bowls - works well and I just chuck it in the washing machine once every few weeks.

We use a rubber bone shaped dog mat under 1 and a plastic IKEA tea tray under the other.

Mum2jenny · 27/03/2022 16:27

Dog’s water bowl just sits directly on the floor. Water only gets spilt if I kick or stand on it.

Fedupsotired · 27/03/2022 16:32

We have something similar to a turtle mat after we found a huge puddle that's ruined our wooden floor!

Mindtheears · 27/03/2022 16:33

DH’s toothbrush. Don’t tell him.

FiveForAPound · 27/03/2022 16:35

A puppy training pad.

nettytree · 27/03/2022 16:42

I just use a tea tray under both bowls. Easier to pick up and clean.

AlwaysLatte · 27/03/2022 16:44

I don't bother - my dog takes a huge gulp and walks across the kitchen trailing it as he goes. I'd have to carpet the whole room!

BiteyShark · 27/03/2022 16:48

I have a rubber mat but it is pointless because he seems to dribble all the water he gulps right across the room Hmm

Prettynails · 27/03/2022 16:49

An old piece of wood but ours have their bowls on stilts

Badoukas · 27/03/2022 16:55

A big slate tile from a garden centre place but not much splashing going on.

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 27/03/2022 16:56

A plastic mat - about £2 form bnm does the job.

ChocolateDeficitDisorder · 27/03/2022 17:08

I have a water dispenser which sits inside a box. All I have to is empty the box when I refill the water. Completely dry floor achieved - if the box wasn't there my two splashy collies would leave it very wet!

I have a Freshmatic fountain, which I stand on a melamine tray.

Z1nn1a · 27/03/2022 21:48

Pets at Home silicone mat. £5. It’s fab

Darklane · 29/03/2022 15:05

A tray.

muddyford · 29/03/2022 15:52

A plastic tray, but the new puppy is a very splashy drinker so there's most of a Daily Telegraph under that.
