Best dog carrier/sling/backpack?

Hi, we have a new rescue dog (small breed) who only has three legs. He can walk/run for miles, but struggles going uphill, so I’d like to get some kind of carrier so that I can still take him.

I’ll need to use my usual backpack still, as I often camp too, so I’m thinking about a front carrier. I want something that won’t dig into my shoulders too much, and that he’ll be comfortable in. Not too bothered about the cost if it’s right.

He weighs 6kg.

We used our old baby carrier (our puppy was 6kg as it's a large breed) and it worked great. The baby carriers are designed to take the weight and be comfortable for you. We had a Toddler Tula which I used to carry my kids on long walks and hikes until they were toddlers. You could probably find one secondhand on FB if you join 'Slings FSOT'.
