Tips for the excessive crotch sniffing

My dog is a lovely boy, his training is coming nicely and he's all booked in for castration next week (hopefully help with the humping DD?!)

The only behaviour we are struggling with it's his obsessive need to stick his snout in the human crotch, mainly DD (who is the only one he humps) but he does it to all of us to some level.
I know it's normal to some extent and its how the sense who we are and if we're well but for him it's like he constantly darting towards that area and cal be hard to distract. If DD or I wear skirts or dresses he'll go up them.
I don't know if its a breed thing, he's a JRT crossed with something unknown (he's a failed foster) but any tips to get him to calm it right down would be great. I'm having to constantly create barriers between him and DD at the moment.

The best way to stop it is to prevent it happening in the first place, so for now that will probably involve keeping him on a lead or house line, so you can grab it/stamp on it and stop him jumping up in the first place.

I would also do lots of work on rewarding him for keeping his feet on the floor. So if he does jump up, just ignore him - turn away, cross your arms and don't give him any contact. As soon as he has all four paws on the floor, reward him.

Also, work on making the floor a rewarding place to be by scattering treats down there to encourage him to focus on that rather than on jumping at you.
