10 month old needs teeth removed

My puppy still has 4 baby teeth and vet has said he will need to have them removed before he's one. I'm not sure qhy?
Is there anything we can do to help them shift? And is it likely to be covered on our pet insurance? It's going to cost 300 pounds otherwise!
Thanks

Ignore me asking why they have to be removed at this age, I've just googled it. Poor boy, no wonder he's not eating much, maybe his teeth are hurting him.

Not only will it hurt him, his breath will STINK. Honestly, it's for the best.

Dental treatment is not covered by any policy I've found unless it's an injury as a result of trauma.

@SilverHairedCat our dogs policy covers up to 1k per year for dental work of any kind .

They aren't planning on doing it until he's one, will get it booked in.

Mine covers dental work as long as the vet has checked his teeth once a year and they paid out when he needed the equivalent of a canine scrape/clean to remove build up of plaque.

Hm.
My little guy has retained baby teeth also, from what I’ve read they often pop out by themselves by about a year as the new teeth grow bigger.

Mine doesn’t have bad breath, nor any problems with appetite.
If you keep on top of brushing I wouldn’t have thought they would cause a massive problem?
