Now I’ve got your attention, I know it’s a mongrel with no pedigree etc etc. Got you to click though didn’t I? Grin
Tbh we have never thought of ourselves as small dog people, but an old fella has come up on the local rescue and he seems like he would fit us very well, and so far the rescue agree. Have any of you owned one and could tell me about them? He’s a fat lad (8kg!) , so will be on a diet if he comes home with us

I think when it is an adult rescue the breed is irrelevant as the personality is formed and you can see what the dog is like. You don't need to rely on traits that are typical of the breed. You can see exactly what the dog is like. If you like him I'd get him whether other dogs of that crossbreed are great or awful.

I agree with the above, its a mongrel so can only really be judged on its own merits. If you have met it and liked it and have the support of the rescue if there are any issues then go for it

Not met yet, just done the initial assessment. He’s in the vets atm for a lump on his paw (suspected lipoma) so can’t meet for a few days

I was sort of curious as to how big people’s are, to get an idea of just how overweight he is. Any health issues they’re prone to, outside of that of the two constituency breeds. And of course pictures from any owners!

Not a fan of handbag dogs. Need to be at least 50kg for me!

Ours is lovely. But he's loud. Very loud. Very loving though. Also can be skittish x

With cross breeds it’s unpredictable. It could be the size of a pomeranian, a chihuahua, or anywhere in between! Health issues as well are likely to be anything from either parent breed, although if it’s on the small side you’ll get the luxating patella thing as well.

My mum got a miniature cross. It grew to the size of a small labrador 😂
