Oral warts

My 9 month old sprocker spaniel has recently developed oral warts. They don't seem to bother her although they are rather unsightly. Has anyone any experience of them? How long did they last? What treatment if any was there? I understand that they can take weeks or months to clear but then she should be immune from them. Thanks.

Yeah, my pup had it. Can't remember how old he was exactly. 6 or 7mo maybe. It is contagious so as a courtesy I would avoid fetching sticks or sharing balls or anything like that if you can help reduce spread.
I don't remember it bothering him a lot. He was quite a chewy puppy anyway though. They can't have lasted more than a couple of weeks. Looked horrendous though!
He's a Springer cross if that makes a difference. He's had zero issues since and will be 8 this year.

Yeah my Lab got one that grew massively. She wasn't allowed at daycare til it totally went, it took about 6 weeks so that was very difficult with work etc! On walks I kept her on lead and didn't let her greet other dogs. We did visit the vet at one point (as it was growing so big and I was getting concerned) who gave me a cream, but that was only to be used if she caught it/it bled to prevent infection. I don't think there's any medication for them otherwise. Apparently it's very normal in young dogs. I was starting to think my pup's would never go until one day she caught it on something on a walk and the bugger came off. I used the cream and it had healed nicely and very quickly after that.

Thank you that's reassuring. She had one initially about 5mm in size but now has a cluster on one side of her mouth and she seems to be developing them on the other side of her mouth too. Hopefully it will be weeks rather than months before they clear up!
