Hi, Ddog has allergies, has been on Prednicare for around 12 months but was showing signs of Cushings so we swapped to Apoquel a few days ago. Did the advised scale-down of the Prednicare then 24 hours with nothing before starting the Apoquel on Saturday morning, vet prescribed 1 tablet twice a day for the first 14 days.
All fine til Monday morning, then she had breakfast and her tablet and promptly threw the lot back up within 5 minutes of eating. Rang vets and was advised to just give evening dose as normal but maybe a while after food rather than with. So did that last night and all fine, no vomiting overnight. Gave breakfast as normal but no tablet (intending to give an hour or so later) and she was immediately sick again.
I decided to go ahead and give the tablet as intended and she's been fine all day otherwise. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same issues and managed to persevere through the initial side effects, and how long it took for things to settle if so? I'm worried as not sure what other options we really have if the Apoquel don't suit her and she can't have steroids.
