Due to replace dying Toyota Avensis soon. Need a big boot to fit a golden retriever plus crap in, any recommendations?

We are on our second Ford C-Max for a Labrador and a working spaniel. Cavernous boot! I have a horrid feeling they aren't being made now. The Ford Eco-Sport has a big boot but not the low lip, which is easier on big and elderly dogs. The S-Max is generous in the boot department too. A friend has a huge GSD in Peugeot estate. There is also a Honda 4WD-type vehicle that looks spacious and not too high a lip.

We have a Passat Estate for our two big labradors. It's a perfect size.

AutumnDragon · 01/03/2022 16:18

We have a Vauxhall Zafira. We chose this especially because it had no sill to get into the boot, and it was the lowest boot we could find, barring something like a van. We have 2 ancient GSDs that can't jump in anymore, we have a ramp but the higher boots made the slope on it too steep.

Really helpful!! Anymore out there?

We have a Volvo XC70 and an MGZS EV. The Volvo is great for longer trips but the MG is also very spacious for day to day use.

AlwaysLatte · 01/03/2022 18:49

Nb if i had to choose between them it would be the Volvo (ideally electric when the big estate electrics come out). We do need to use a ramp for our labrador for the MG as it's quite high.

Nissan X-Trail or Hyundai Santa Fe.

Or the Audi Q5 or Q8.

Hadenoughofbloodycovid · 01/03/2022 18:54

We have a Honda CR-V for our labradors, plenty room for 2 of them plus it has a flat base so easy for them to get in and put.

tizwozliz · 01/03/2022 18:54

We've just got a Toyota RAV4 - we'll be getting a divider for the boot so dog (lab) can go one side and room for some luggage on the other.

WeAllHaveWings · 01/03/2022 19:00

Ford focus estate here for our lab

PermanentlyDizzy · 01/03/2022 20:27

We have a Golf estate which was bought to accommodate two large Lurchers. They had loads of room with more to spare.

Hairyfairy01 · 01/03/2022 21:21

Toyata verso, (7 seater with the back seats down)

PancakeBae · 02/03/2022 14:14

We've got an X3 which fits our very large hound in the back on a harness. She made it really clear the boot was Not For Her.

Prior to that, I had a VW Passat estate which was actually really great for hauling two big low-slung dogs around plus junk on the back seats.

Userss88 · 02/03/2022 18:11

Skoda kodiaq!
