Puppy names for sprocker spaniel

New pup arrives in 3 weeks! We need a name so open to ideas. He is black with a white bib and white bit on nose. Will be a working dog as well as pet. I like 'people' names, slightly old man ish (we've had a Dave though!). He's a dog pup.
Any ideas?!

I came on to say Sidney too. 'Eee' ending names are supposed to be better for recall.

We have a Sprocker. Mad as a box of frogs but the loveliest dog ever. She's 9 and still very puppyish. She goes beating with my DP and walks miles but equally happy to lie for hours on the sofa.

I have a sprocker and I always say that if he was black I'd have named him Shadow as he follows me round everywhere! Such wonderful, loving little dogs.

I also really liked Rupert & Basil.
