Do you do flea and worming yourself or pay vet?

Vet suggested a pet club thing, owner we’ve bought puppy off recommended doing it ourselves . Mentioned the medications but not sure what they were or when to do it. It’s our first dog.

@Aerish

I subscribe to vetbox. I get flea drops posted every month and worming tablets every 3 months. They also send treats.
This will not protect againsg lungworm . The packages only protect against fleas tapeworm and roundworm. (unless they have changed recently)

We have 2 dogs and get ours from the vet as part of the healthy pet club. They used to have a spot on flea treatment but they love to groom and lick each other, were very distressed when we tried to separate them apart for a few hours whilst it dried, so the vet suggested a tablet instead. So now they have a tablet for fleas and a tablet for worms every month, alternate every 2 weeks.

You really need to check the occurrence of lungworm in your area and then act appropriately, we live in a fairly high lungworm risk area and I personally know 2 dogs that have had it , both with severe consequences so I treat monthly with vet prescribed medication via our pet health plan .

I use a vet plan. We get flea/worm/tick treatments, vaccinations and two vet checks a year. It also gives us a discount on certain things like dental treatments which we have unfortunately had to use. It used to give a discount off consultations and all vet treatments/investigations but they stopped that a few years ago Sad

I have three dogs have pet plan for all, get flea and worming, two free consultations a year and get annual booster and health check every year and 10% off the bill every time you go.
Well worth it. X
