False pregnancy and off food

My lab is 1 and is having a false pregnancy. Confirmed by vet yesterday and given medicine. She has been off her food the last week but since coming back from the vet (she was in for an x ray not the false pregnancy) she has refused to eat her food though has no refused treats Hmm. She’s always been a bit on the fussy side and with a few tummy issues so I really can’t switch food again. I’ve got 3 half opened bags of food at home. It’s getting ridiculous.

How long do I wait? She’s booked in to the vet next Friday to check the medicine has worked. Do I just keep persevering u til the. And not worry if she doesn’t eat much ? Or do I cave and start feeding her chicken and rice or similar? I’m just worried she will never want to go back to dog food and I’ll be forever catering to a fussy dog.

Mine did this. I got a tincture to add to water from Fenland Forager. Great stuff.
She also didn’t much like food. Until we switched to raw.
If she is fussy I just give it a couple of minutes and remove food. Offer half at next meal. If she demolishes that then more next meal. If she doesn’t I halve again. It has worked for us.
Booked in for spaying yet?? Grin

I would give her what she wants to eat at the moment and not worry about her being fussy.

She is feeing pretty rubbish with the false pregnancy mentally and physically.

Give her a bit of slack for a while and then when all her hormones are back to normal work out your plan of action if she is still being fussy.

Booking in her spay when she goes back for her check up! @Wolfiefan Can I ask how easy it is to do raw? And is it expensive? I’ve two young kids and a hectic life style and raw seems like an extra layer of faff that I could do without. But I’m not basing that judgment on any real facts!

And yes I’ll go easy this week and pander to her while she’s not feeling herself. Hopefully the medicine and lots of sofa cuddles will help.

It does require extra thought. I buy complete and just defrost and serve. But have a separate freezer. We order online. Plus need to be aware of hygiene around raw meat!
