Struggling - is it the terrible teens?!

Our rescue pup is now just hitting 9 months. We have had her for 4 months. Boy is she stubborn and I’m trying not to scream or cry today.

We have done lots of training both a class - which tbh has been pretty useless and one to one trainer who has been a lot more helpful. We continue to work on her training with little sessions regularly.
We are working very very hard to integrate her with the 2 resident cats which is bloody hard work- she wants to play/ chase. They are very pissed off / nervous and I’m so guilty about that!! They lived very happily with our old dog.

Recall was going ok lately but today I’m mortified - she’s run out of our local field and down the road after a barky dog on lead barking at it. Completely ignored me 🙈 she did eventually come back but it could have been a bloody disaster cars were going up and down etc. If I had been that dog owner id have been really cross. There’s no aggression just excited wants to play.

She seems to want to do what she wants even when called around the house / in from the garden etc. Tbh im at wits end today. She’s been out with the dog walker for a good hour with other dogs over the fields today and gets plenty of exercise.

We lost our old boy who was golden over a year ago and aren’t first time dog owners but she’s so blooming stubborn.

Wishing we hadn’t had her tbh 🙈🙈🙈

I might just be the teenage years but a book I really love is easy peasy puppy squeeze
Also use a long line if recall it iffy and always set pup up to succeed
