Husky alternative?

Hi, partner has considering a Husky, but after some research and some posts on here, now not so sure, particularly with the recall issue!
We're looking for some advice on an alternative similar breed with a similar temperament.
Two 45 min walks a day is doable and he works from home most of the time. No children, but family's children are in the house regularly.
Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance Smile

What is it about the temperament he likes?

2 x 45 mins per day is not a lot for a dog. How much on top can he give in terms of brain training and games? What experience does he have with dogs?

2x45 mins is really not much. Especially not for a Sibe!
I’d look away from working breeds

^ this.

Maybe a long-haired sight hound? Saluki, lurcher? They do quite well with two shorter walks and are often happy to snooze the rest of the time.

Eurasier maybe?

What about a German shepherd? I've met a couple of lovely ones recently. I would definitely chose one over a husky.

2x45 minutes per day is absolutely nothing for a husky. They need miles and miles of exercise day in, day out.

My SIL has one and she runs it for at least 5-8 miles per day on top of three other walks.

What is it that appeals about a husky? Looks? Temperament? Size?

What about a samoyed. I saw two being walked off the lead the other day. Beautiful dogs and the owner said they were lovely natured.

How about a leonberger?
