Samoyed

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 18/02/2022 21:34

It’s a Samoyed isn’t it?

Mostlyjustrunning · 18/02/2022 21:34

Think you’ve posted the wrong pic hun. Those are chess pieces x

Lovewineandchocolate · 18/02/2022 21:37

It looks like a samoyed

SnackQueen · 18/02/2022 21:51

It's a Samoyed puppy. Love love love Samoyeds. I had one growing up.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 18/02/2022 22:10

That is either a very small ( very cute ) pup or a very big chess set.

It got me thinking if we could swap all the chess pieces for dogs what breed would each piece be ?

Black pieces
Pawn - toy poodle or dachshunds
King - doberman / French poodle

White
Pawn - toy poodle or jack Russell
King French poodle

What else could we use ? Grin

CharlesChickens · 19/02/2022 00:58

Samoyed. They are lovely dogs.

CharlesChickens · 19/02/2022 00:59

They have very thick coats though, they are not good in heat.

TonyThreePies · 19/02/2022 01:02

I would love a samoyed! Follow Maya Polar Bear if you're on FB, it will bring you a lot of joy!

GeorgiaGirl52 · 19/02/2022 01:39

Samoyed or possibly Pomsky.

PermanentlyDizzy · 19/02/2022 09:41

My instant thought was Japanese Spitz and a reverse google search on the image seems to agree.

If you scroll down on this page you can see all the possibilities for white spitz-type dogs.

I love Samoyeds, especially their smiley faces Grin. I used to live next door to one as a child and he was an absolute sweetheart, but the amount of coat care would put me off these days.

Elieza · 19/02/2022 11:00

Are Samoyed’s not a bit nippy with kids? Just mentioning as that’s what I got told.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 19/02/2022 17:11

@TonyThreePies that’s what Facebook is for! Grin

You know up if you Ltb your home will have space for another ddog.

NeedAHoliday2021 · 19/02/2022 18:42

@Easterbunnyiswindowshopping to be fair, him working from home is the reason we can have a dog so if I ltb I’d lose Ddog1.

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 19/02/2022 18:57

Could you get a very very similar ddog to yours? Tell him he must have double vision!!

Paddingtonthebear · 19/02/2022 18:59

I think it’s a young Samoyed. Someone near us has three of them and they are such lovely dogs. When they lie down they cross one paw across the other, or when they are around people they will sit down right next to you, on your feet. Very cute but extremely hairy.

Imdonna · 19/02/2022 19:07

We had a samoyed that looked just like that when I was young. Have to be honest, it was an absolute pain. The coat care and amount of exercise exhausted mum.

Hair everywhere all the time and he didn't particularly like being indoors as it was too warm. He was purchased by the man that mum was, briefly, married to for 9 months and he left him when he fucked off.

Mum, eventually, had to rehome him through a breed specialist charity, with a family who lived rural and already had one. He had a couple of acres to roam. He was so much happier in his new home and we stayed in touch until the dog died.

Mum felt guilty about it until she died. I have a working cocker and she is far less work than that samoyed was.

Fwiw, my dp said no second dog and then the rescue we fostered for got a 10 weeks old puppy in as she was too timid for the family who bought her. We took her in as a 'foster'. She is still here 8 months later, the adoption paper work was done quietly and dp just accepted she was staying 🤣Grin

Haha @Imdonna we have a working cocker and he’s the absolute best. So so good but also very fast. The other dogs can never keep up. One young Labrador was close!

They are fan aren't they.

The little fluffy one gets really annoyed that she can't keep up with the cocker. Nowhere near. Not really sure what breed she is, but she is a barrel on legs. Definitely not built for speed Grin

NeedAHoliday2021 · 19/02/2022 23:14

@Imdonna but she looks very happy with her new sibling! Your cocker appears to be giving a slight side eye and slightly less enthusiastic Grin
