Neighbours dog constantly barking

My flat backs on to a large green as does various other flats and houses and from around that area I can hear a dog that constantly barks. The barks actually don't annoy me but sometimes the barks turn into cries and it's really quite distressing. I work from home and hear it all day every day. It's barking right now.

If I was to call the SSPCA would they do anything about it? I can't give a specific address as I can't work out where it's coming from. I took a walk round the streets that back on to the green and still couldn't work it out.

I start work at 06:30 so it's out for hours and hours on end. I don't know whether the owners are home or not. But i feel I need to do something.

The SSPCA won't (be able to) do anything unless the dog is without food, water or shelter. The laws do set a very low bar for what's acceptable.

If you were a near neighbour I'd say you would have more luck contacting the council and dealing with it as a noise nuisance issue

That was my worry that it may be seen as acceptable. I suppose I could contact the council but I'm guessing the would need a specific address which I can't give. I was hope the SSPCA could do some investigating to find out where it is! Wishful thinking.
