Puppy names - please help!!

Reminiscent of trying to agree on names for our two DDs (DD2 who is now 8 was registered with 1 day to spare Blush), my partner and I are really struggling to come up with any puppy names that we both like - please help!
We don't have her yet but will be a Liver and white springer spaniel (girl).

He likes names like Treacle and Crumpet. He's also suggested Olive and Nutmeg.

Previous dogs have been Becky, Rosie, Carrie. I like Pippin/Pippa, Holly, Daisy, Ivy - although with two girls at school it's hard to find any that aren't already in use!!

Any ideas?! Thanks Smile

Olive sounds like a good one then as you like cute human names which this fits with that.

Gertie
Flori
Lois
Fern
Esme
Fraggle
Zoe

I really like Nutmeg!

Peggy
Flossie
Winnie

He did suggest Olive actually which I like better than the others - just not sure how well it calls? (Although eventually we'll train to silent whistle anyway so maybe not that important!)

Thank you for all the suggestions! I liked Fern, but the girls aren't keen! I also like Peggy, I think it's very cute and not so likely to have lots of little girls turning their heads Smile

It’s as difficult to name your dog as it is to name your child.
Our Bedlington boy ended up being called spooner.
I really wanted Clem Fandango but was outvoted. He is registered at the vet as Spooner Clem Fandango surname

Gigia · 11/02/2022 11:36

Gigi
Mimi
Mabel
Nala

Spooner Clem Fandango is an awesome name! (I suspect that this little pup is going to have several middle names to keep everyone happy/ish...).

I was thinking today that I actually really like Lottie - I haven't tried this out yet and it's a little odd as Lottie is a diminutive of my own name - but one I've always refused. Would it be weird/sound egotistical to use it on a pup?!!

I have a darling liver and white 18-month old springer - my 4th in succession- congratulations- they are fabulous dogs. Mine is Rosie

Just wanted to say thanks to all the kind posters who offered a handhold and great advice when my gorgeous springer girl was reduced to skeletal dimensions over few months - at vets last night we finally had a gain - a whopping 1.2kg (2.6 lbs) we have a way to go but whopee the tide has turned. Thanks again! - Lucky Springer owner xx

RussianSpy101 · 11/02/2022 15:12

Olive would really suit!

Lucy ?

Lettie short for Lettice? It satifies your partner's desire to name her after a food.

Other suggestions:
Hattie
Bridie
Nettie short for Nettle
Marnie
Dory
Brook
Tikka
Pumpkin

A few more:

Oh wow, what a huge relief! Mine isn't even here yet and I'm already fretting more than I ever did over my human babies!

I like your husband’s choices as I prefer non- human names. In the last 3 days I’ve met 4 dogs called Lola and my midwife friend tells me it’s currently very popular for babies.

Idontlikeworms · 11/02/2022 19:31

Hazel is a nice name for a Puppy

PunsDontKillPeople · 11/02/2022 19:32
