Flea treatment that works!

Just posted another thread and thought I’d ask this as well!

Dog is currently using On Defence on subscription from Pets at Home - basically the same as Frontline I think. Says it kills fleas within 24 hours - starting to wonder whether this means this is just within 24 hours of it being applied. Had always assumed that it meant if a flea got on the dog it would be killed within 24 hours, but this clearly isn’t the case.

He goes to day care twice a week so thought the odd flea was just being picked up then, but he hasn’t been for over a week (kennel cough) and I’ve combed 6 fleas off him today.

Does anything actually work? It’s embarrassing taking him to the groomer and she tells me he should be getting flea treatment, when he is!

My dog is on Nexguard. It’s a chew, once a month. Prevents tics & worms him too ( I think excluding heartworm)

He’s a lab , and all the swimming/ water play mean the skin- applied products were ineffective.
