Lab Puppy search

I am looking for a Lab puppy. We are a family of 5 with 4year old twins and a 2 year old. I want to make sure I get from the right place with the right parents and breeder but beyond the kennel club website I don’t know where to look, or what’s good and bad. Can anybody offer any help or advice?

How are things going @Lolly2803?

I havent read the full thread but christ alive, everyone is so patronising! Op asked for advice sourcing a breeder not whether or not she should get a dog! Also people saying dogs are expensive, how rude! You dont know the Ops financial situation, money might be no object.

I know this thread is abit older but Op I hope you managed to find what you were looking for. Our fox red lab pup comes home in 2 weeks......and I have a 4 year old 😱

Hi everyone. Sorry been reluctant to post as I couldn’t face the comments on here. So my husband struggled with the dog. He thought he was too big and my little boy was quiet nervous. A kind lady contacted me who was a friend of the breeder. She offered to look after him and if we changed our minds we could have him back just while we decided what to do.
2 days later we asked for him back. And now she won’t give him back....

What a strange situation! What's the breeder's opinion about it all? Does the woman definitely still have him?

The breeder was out of the country so we never agreed to return him. He won’t answer our calls. But he’s friends with her. Yes she does.

Oh dear, that's not good. Hard to know what to suggest - do you have anything in writing (so that it was a temporary arrangement, or anything?)
Hope things get worked out

Your OP asked for advice about how to buy a Labrador puppy from the right place. Despite all that advice, you seem to have ended up in a very odd position.

How much did you pay for a 9 month old working Lab, supposedly trained to basic standards? I assume you have a contract of sale?

"A kind lady contacted me who was a friend of the breeder. She offered to look after him..." Who is this woman? How did she come to approach you?

Poor dog, being passed around like a toy...
