Australian Miniature Labradoodle

Does anyone have a Australian Miniture Labradoodle?

If so what are their temperaments like please?

I've done quite a bit of research and this breed seems perfect for our family. Just wondered about people's experiences with this breed.

I looked into this breed too, having been very taken by one we met. I was put off by the breeding situation - there only seem to be a few in the country and they seem to have a lot of puppies but very long waiting lists. It just worried me. We ended up with a Tibetan Terrier, who is just lovely.

I looked into breeders. They all neutered dogs and bitches at 8 weeks. I don’t agree with this. Also churning out puppies left right and centre via placing bitches in homes for free as long as owners agree to several litters. Didn’t sit right with me. I assume the neutering is to control market and they eventually want ‘breed’ recognised by KC.

They of course present a very kosher ‘shop window’ via their websites…

Btw, we went with a lab in the end. Have not regretted our decision at all!

Basically a mongrel cross of a small lab with a minature poodle? Why don't you get one of the other oodles.. Where they have crossed with another small breed?

It’s not a straight cross, they’ve got 5 or 6 breeds in them with apparently the aim of breeding something true to type... but the original breeders were allegedly puppy farmers using fake pedigrees and doing other dodgy stuff.

Then you add in the weird early neutering a lot of breeders do...

And if anything it’s worse than what most poodle cross breeders are doing, and they’re often dodgy enough... so...

I think we’ve been meeting one of these down the park these past few mornings. I will ask. Fwiw, this little one is very free with friendly affection and is quite submissive. More people oriented than other dogs,

If you add Australian to the Labradoodle, it seems to get a bit more credence. It's just a labradoodle. My Sis got one, sold as a miniature but grew as big as a labrador of course. Don't believe the hype and then ask if you can see the pedigree of sire and bitch to see if it's a proper "Australian"

The amount of people I meet with labradoodles and if asked if it's a labradoodle, no it's an Australian labradoodle
