We love Biothane long lines, can be slippy when wet but easy to clean and don't get as knotted. I prefer the narrower ones (1.5cm) but my dog is only 11kg.

Our most used is a 5m one, but I also like our 8m. Anything longer we only use when we can leave it trailing e.g. beach as I find it is difficult to handle.

We buy all ours from Handmade Hound.

We opted for a horse lunge line as it was much cheaper (and the same thing) as a dog long line.

Biothane lines are good in that they don't get wringing wet like any sort of webbing, but you can't tie convenient knots in them for stopping the line when you stamp on it to stop the dog.

Have you tried letting your pup off fully? Most very young dogs will not go far - and leaving the line trailing lets you regain control pretty easily. Just rehearse recall with lots of rewards at the same time.

Another vote for horse lunge lines, cheaper, longer, stronger.
