Hi dog owners,

My 12 week old boy is om AVA Puppy. It's quite expensive so I wouldn't mind transitioning to another complete kibble that might be a bit cheaper.

Any thoughts? Good brand suggestions?

We have a 16wk English bulldog, we give him the breed specific royal canine puppy dry food. He enjoys it and no gastro problems. He was on a raw diet prior to coming to us.

Thanks Prinnny. Funnily enough the breeder preferred Ava over Royal Canin as she felt it was too rich.

Might give it a go though.

We give our french bulldog canagan. She has allergies so we give her the salmon flavour. It's quite expensive but it's very good quality.

I have had a number of bulldogs and currently have a 4 year old olde english. Most importantly you need to keep an eye on grain content, bulldogs have very sensitive stomachs and are very often intolerant to grain. Should pick a food which is as high protein content as possible. Ours has always eaten Fish4Dogs.

Thanks so much guys. The brands you suggest are of a similar pricing to Ava. I think I should maybe just invest in the XXL bags of Ava as he really is great on that food. No gastric problems at all and seems to enjoy it.

If you shop at pets at home and sign up to the vip card you get a bag of Ava puppy food for free: you can sign up more than once…
