Dog hiding things

2 year old cockapoo. She’s gentle and pretty well mannered. But she hides ‘bones’ and chew sticks, in the garden 8n pots, in our bed, in her bed.

She’ll get over excited by things sometimes and whimper while she runs around with them.

She’ll also take slippers and want you to chase her, but that is genuine play and she’ll swap for a treat or another toy or just get bored and drop them.

Reading the resource guarding post on coackapoo, should we be worried?

As long as she drops / lets go of whatever when asked I wouldn't worry at all. Lot of dogs tend to hide and bury stuff - one of mine is murder for stashing tennis balls and I have to pretty regularly pick up and shake off the prime spots I know he likes to use most and sure as shit, tennis balls come tumbling out like a torrential downpour.

If your dog lets go of whatever she's hiding or burying and not arguing with you when asked, my advice would be not to worry.

Oh great thank you. The only time I really worried was when a friends dog was staying and she did get very protective of her toys, standing stiffly over them, so we gathered them up and put them away.
