First time dog owner although dh grew up with dogs.
Just being nosey really, our pup is 15 weeks and routine looks a bit like this….

630 get up and out for toilet
630-7 quiet play won’t eat any breakfast
7-8 walk (obv not for that time we drive somewhere and carry he will be down for 15mins)
8 breakfast (if he eats it…)
9-11 sleep mostly in his crate whilst i work (toilet breaks as required)
11-13 up and about playing/ bit of training
13-1330 sniffy walk, again combo of being carried and waking
1330 - 1400 lunch & play
1400 - 1600 sleep
1600 - 1900 play/ train etc
Rest of the evening mix of sleep/ play
2230 bedtime - mostly dpup sleeps through which is wonderful!

One thing we struggle with is food! He just really isn’t fussed on his biscuits and rarely eats what he should. We are mindful of treats and take those out daily allocation but it still doesn’t seem much

Any feedback welcome Xmas Smile

Sometimes we do a very short evening walk as we have a nice footpath so we might do that depending on how the days gone

My puppy's daily timetable looked like this in short
Eat,shit,play,sleep,eat,shit,play,sleep,eat,shit,play,sleep......Grin

Somepup100 · 20/12/2021 18:30

Morning walk
Afternoon walk
Evening walk
Around 9 bed
Wanders about the house and garden the rest of the time getting people to play with him or give him attention or watches the world go by out of the window.

6:30 awake and toilet
6:35-6:50 i relax on sofa while she chews a yak or braided lamb
6:50-7:30 goes absolutely bananas then usually (hopefully) has a light nap in the kitchen whilst I have a coffee.
8:30ish breakfast (if she eats it)

The next bit I struggle with. Because she really needs a walk at this time but I struggle to get her out that early. If I don’t she spends the rest
Of the morning barking and nipping and chewing and just generally driving me mad and making it near impossible for me to do anything or actually get ready to go out.

9:30-10:15go to dog park where she’s off lead for around 15mins.
10:30-12:30 (roughly) sleep.
She’ll generally doze on and off most of the day after this depending on what I’m doing. So won’t be awake for more than an hour at a time really.
The time of the second walk varies but will be a pavement walk which is hard work. She’s quite nervous and doesn’t really walk.
3pm lunch
7pm dinner
8pm bedtime.

Maybe I need a more set routine as it’s all over the place.

16 weeks by the way

PenguinLove1 · 27/12/2021 23:36

16 week old pup-

6am - we wake her for a pee to avoid accidents then she takes herself to a bed on the couch to go back to sleep untill we come back downstairs to start the day
7.30-8am ish we come down and she gets up, straight to garden for a poo then breakfast - on a raw food diet, its gone in seconds
She wanders about the house for an hour as everyone gets ready for the day etc and when they leave for school/work and i log on for the day she takes herself back to her bed on the couch and sleeps for around 3 hours
11am ish - wakes from nap - i need to watch when this happens and take her straight to garden to pee
She then will wander/ play with toys for an hour or maybe nap again. In between calls I talk to her, play quickly or take her out to toilet. Sometimes she sits on me as I work, im lucky work dont mind at all
12 til 1 lunchtime- 20 min walk, a few treats while I eat my lunch, then she eats her lunch at 1, and garden for a poo before I start work again for the afternoon
1pm - she will wander about the living room and nap for an hour or so
2.30 ish - pee in garden then an hour of being a pest while im trying to work
3.30/4 ish - 45 min walk
5pm - nap time
6pm - play and sit on whoever is on the couch
7pm dinner and then playtime
Sometimes a quick walk round the block
8pm sometimes a half hour of a bitey pain in the arse
9pm - sleeps on someone on the couch
10.30 - pee then put in bed where she will sleep all night until we lift her at 6

When she is in her routine she is great, when unsettled not so much. She will go to the toilet every time i take her out and I can normally predict when she wants to go, but if im wrong or dont watch she will have an accident

She is a small breed and im struggling with some training - lying down seems impossible i cannot get to do it at all! Plus she is very food driven and will only sit for a treat and begs for food while we eat

Justcannotbearsed · 28/12/2021 07:52

You all seem to have missed zoomies and biting?

We found they need way more sleep than they think they do and that a tiny bit of training tires them out…or a snuffle mat…or trats hidden in newspaper in a box.

Feeding, I think keeping it regular, put the food down take it up if not eaten….ours we’ve found is not a morning girl. She likes a lunch about 1 and then to eat late, about 9 pm.

Stretchandsnap · 28/12/2021 08:13

This is our holiday schedule but will change when back to wfh in Jan - 16 wk old labradoodle
6-6:30 is awake pee and poo - play some fetch ball or squeaky toy
7am breakfast (gone in a flash) and play some more chewy toys, rope or boxes
8-9am snooze
9-10am drive down to park and have a play on the long lead or a nice slow sniffy walk
10-11:30 ish sleep in crate then out for pee
12:00 lunch
Afternoon, visit friends/mum noodle around/go to the pub and get fussed
3-4pm walk in the park on long lead, meet dogs, play with ball, eat leaves (before it gets dark)
5-5:30pm dinner and play and snooze for the rest of the evening
6:30pm poo (usually anytime between 5 mins- 1 hr after after eating)
9:30pm final pee and in crate with licky mat
He is hugely clingy and we will have to restart leaving him alone when we all got back to work\school

Love this kind of thread as first dog and never sure what is 'normal'.

7.5 month old lab

During the week with no doggy daycare:
Wake up around 7am
Out for wee then cuddle on sofa
Breakfast in a slow bowl at 8am
Walk 8.30am off lead round nearby field
Settle for the morning as we work (may decide his bed needs humping...)
Lunchtime walk off lead round nearby field
Settle for afternoon
6.30pm dinner in a slow bowl
Playtime of tuggie or throw the toy
7 or 8pm short pavement walk
May decide his bed needs humping (bloody teenager!)
Settle before final wee and bed at 10.30pm

During days with doggy daycare:
(wake up, breakkie, dinner stays the same)
Doggy Daycare 9-2pm but no walks with us (1 off lead walk with daycare)

Weekend:

Similar timings but a longer midday walk in woods instead

Treats:
We do take from food allowance and give treats - either kibble in puzzle feeders, woofbrush from lily's kitchen and JR Pets natural chews (e.g. goat ears, beef tails, spratz, etc). Currently he is a healthy weight and size but always checking.
