Dog peed on sofa

My sisters puppy has come over and peed on the sofa .

I've taken the cover off and used carpet cleaner - do I rinse ??

Taken the cushion out and used carpet cleaner and covered in bicarbonate ! Oh wise ones what do I do !!

I would rinse. Let everything dry . If it’s still whiffs get yourself some pet odour eliminator and spray liberally.
It’s useful stuff to have if the pet is likely to visit a lot.
To be honest there are more products to get rid of pet mistakes than there are for human ‘accidents’ so don’t panic 😃

Goodness me,your cleaning procedure sounds like an overkill to me.Puppy pee is quite different to adult dog pee.much less smelly and quite water like,specially if it is a very young pup.

Use enzymatic cleaner or biological washing powder both break down the enzymes in the wee and will take away the smell. You can make a solution and spray it in. No I would not rinse.

Meant to say worth using the above if the puppy is to visit again it will be less likely to wee in the same place again as the smell will be gone

Irony is, I'm a dog person and I've never ever had any pet pee on a sofa before . Many a carpet yet , sofa no!

Just more worried as it's soaked into the cushion
