Cavachon owners?

We have fallen in love with these dogs, there are quite a few in our area & they are all so friendly towards by ds... Their owners all seem very happy with them also... We were recommended a breeder by one of the school dads.. We've been on a waiting list for 9 months & the breeder rang to say she will hopefully have a litter around Easter time & we are second on her list so should be pretty much guaranteed a pup if there is 2 or more in the litter... The cavalier has been extensively tested for all conditions & the bichon also...i do not want a lecture on designer breeds, we are choosing a cavachon as we feel it will fit our lifestyles, great with kids & we are very happy with the breeder recommended to us.. Also from what I've read many ikc show breeds have terrible health issues due to the very small gene pool they're bred from so I am happy to go for a Cross breed..
Also we have tried rescues but we don't fit the criteria as ds is too young..
I'd love to hear from any cavachon owners on here, many thanks!

Also want to add we already have 2 bichon frieses, I don't want another as nothing can top them, they're the best hence my love of the cavachon!

They are gorgeous dogs, love my bichons but they're mine since before I met DH & had ds so I'm looking forward to having a new "family puppy"... My bichons are amazing with ds. Only drawback is the grooming which we will have with the cavachon also but it's a small price to pay for such wonderful dogs

Also considering a Cavapoochon. A friend has just got one and it has a lovely temperament and has been very easy to train.

I have a cavachon

She's the happiest most affectionate darling girl, if a little needy!

I rescued her when she was 2, we have her almost 2 years now.

She ia prone to ear infections but I tend to keep them at bay with regular ear washes and drops.

She is brushed regularly but hates it as she has little tight curls, she's groomed every 5 weeks and bathed in between but hates the bath also.

She sleeps for hours, when she's awake she is happy to be near us (or on my knee) she is a beautiful girl and really well behaved.

Sounds like she took after the bichon side with the tight curls, my two bichons have the curliest coats!

I have one - she is nearly 11 . Best little dog ever. Happy to sit on our laps or go for long hikes. She has easily hiked 10 miles before. Very food orientated and quite a bit needy. She has sadly just been diagnosed with a heart murmur but not yet on medication and coping well. Lovely little dog who I would thoroughly recommend!
I also have 2 cavapoos who are amazing . Little bit more hyper but the most loving dogs ever.

Yes I think the cavapoos are supposed to be a bit more energetic with the poodle mix, they are beautiful dogs as well though!

Mine is the exact same.

She LOVES her daily walks, she could walk for miles and miles. Though she is puller on the lead!!

We have a cavachon! More cava than chon. Adorable! Playful, affectionate, great company, cuddly….best dog ever!
