Dear all my little dog slipped his lead in Battersea park just near the albert bridge gate opposite the prince Albert pub. He ran down parkgate Road and was last seen near the BUPA care home mead bank.

Oh I hope you find him. Posting to bump this up active because I think this is a pretty obscure topic. I’m sure you’ve already done this as you’re posting here but get on Facebook and post to as many local groups as you can, ask people to share, and ask any local friends to share for you too. Also post on Nextdoor if you’re on a local one.

mumofthree22 · 01/12/2021 22:26

Sorry to hear you have lost your puppy, hope he is found safely soon. Post on local Facebook pages and Nextdoor App to get awareness locally. Also Facebook page "Pet alert London".

prettycatseyes · 01/12/2021 22:26

Aww so sorry to hear this...sending lots of love and really hope you find him...bumping this up for you to remain active..keep us updated xx

drinkingwineoutofamug · 01/12/2021 22:27

My heart goes out to you @annstuart11 . I have a thread at the minute about my sons beagle going missing. Get in touch with your local rescue to help. Dog lost on Facebook to spread the word .
.
Go back to the area but don't call his name . Favourite treats and something that smells of you and him. No loud noises. Don't chase. Unfortunately he will come back on his terms when he gets tired

I don't mean to soundly gloomy. I really hope he's back with you soon

Anothernamechange3 · 01/12/2021 22:35

Yes please keep us posted. I’m sure you’ll get him back especially if you get the message out as far as you can to make him ‘too hot to handle’. If he slipped his lead does he still have a collar on with your contact details? If not presumably he’ll have microchip which will still do the job albeit take a little longer as it will entail a trip to the vet. I always have mine with lead attached to a harness but separate collar with tag on for this reason. He’s a beauty and I’m not sure what he’s crossed with but I have a shih tzu cross too (also has yorkie and Maltese in him) and if he’s anything like mine all he’ll want is to be back with you too. Will be thinking of you with fingers and toes crossed.

Floralnomad · 02/12/2021 01:28

Have you registered him with Doglost as that would be a good place to start . Hopefully he will be back with you soon .

NotKnowingArseFromElbow · 02/12/2021 03:03

Hope you find your dog 😞 bumping for you

SnoopsCaliforniaRoll · 02/12/2021 03:27

Sorry to hear about your dog OP (when our cat when missing earlier this year, we were in shreds so I know you must be suffering). However, is it a good idea to have your personal mobile and email address on a public site?

icedcoffees · 02/12/2021 06:26

@SnoopsCaliforniaRoll

Why would that be a problem?

It's no different to putting your phone number up on "missing" posters like people did back before the internet came about.

Nobody can do anything malicious with a phone number or email address.

SnoopsCaliforniaRoll · 02/12/2021 06:38

True true @icedcoffees - just that MN has a much wider reach (and often some tedious trolls).

Good luck OP.

LilyMumsnet · 02/12/2021 10:23

Hi OP

We wish you the very best of luck.
Mumsnet is a very public forum accessible to all - we think it's best we remove your phone number and instead, you can ask people to PM you. We hope that's OK. Flowers

Santaischeckinglists · 02/12/2021 10:49

Hoping you have found your furry friend op. Can't imagine how worried you are.

Anothernamechange3 · 02/12/2021 14:46

You’ve moved the topic since I posted last night mnhq….. I wasn’t trying to suggest the dog house is an obscure topic 😂 Hope you’ve had good news by now op.

drinkingwineoutofamug · 07/12/2021 09:26

Have you found your dog yet @annstuart11

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 07/12/2021 12:59

Put it on www.doglost.co.uk if not already. It is free. Check with Battersea dogs home (but they will know if it is on doglost as they check it daily).

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 07/12/2021 13:01

And phone your borough dog warden and neighbouring ones in case they have picked the dog up. They only keep them about 7 days before they give them to rescues etc.
