Around here it's the cross breeds like cockapoos or cavachons or else cocker spaniels that the mc/uc own.. Maybe it's just our part of London?

Rural Suffolk: posh dogs are working spaniels or retrievers. Needed for shoots, now kept in or closer to the house after spates of thefts.
However, traditionally posh would be greyhounds- as seen all over tapestries and portraits. Clearly, my hound didn’t get that memo as he is frequently the least dignified dog in the world. Gorgeous though.
There are about 4 retired/ rescued greyhounds in our village.
