A sad day all round

So in the past couple of weeks my parents have had the ddog to the vets as she wasn't right and has been getting worse with my dps taking her back and being told try antibiotics and steroids , well over the weekend my Nellie dog has detoriated so badly she has been walking in circles and unable to stand up and falling over . Today my dps made the sad but right decision to give her that last bit of dignity and at 11.00 my furry little sister passed over rainbow bridge with my dps stroking loving and kissing her and telling her how good she was . I've spent most of the day crying but my dps have found a lovely crematorium to take her to so we will have her back with us before Christmas . There isn't really any advice I wanted I just needed to let it out and say . Nellie my furry little sister who made me laugh with the daft things you did I will never forget you and will always carry you in my heart , I love you X

Ah, I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a beloved pet. I've never forgotten my furry friends who've crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They don't really leave us though, they stay in our hearts.

Thanks for you and your DParents.

So sorry
It is really heartbreaking but we always carry them with us
Showing them love and dignity in their final moments is the one thing we can do for them as hard as that is
I truly believe that they know what is happening and why you are doing it ie it is because you love them ❤️

She won’t be alone.

A welcome committee will be in place.

For every tear that falls there were a 1000 smiles.

We are blessed to have them visit our lives (even if it never feels like long enough).

She was given the final loving gift of dignity and peace. 🌻 x

Juniper68 · 03/12/2021 10:02

Sending love to you ❤ She's had the best x

My boy is nearly at this stage. I'm dreading it. He'll be 15 in January.

Juniper68 · 03/12/2021 10:03

Meant to say she's had the best family x

LostFrog · 03/12/2021 21:25

I am so sorry for your loss x I hope you have people being kind around you x

Nongatron · 03/12/2021 21:28

So sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking to say goodbye but she knew how much you loved her. I had to do the same in October after 15 years and I was devastated. They leave a paw print on your heart

Santahatesbraisedcabbage · 03/12/2021 21:30

As an only dc I had a furry dsis too!! Dm got her when me and ddog were 18 months. She fulfilled my sibling dreams until she had to be pts when we were nearly 21!!
So sorry for your loss op..

mineofuselessinformation · 03/12/2021 21:50

@SheldonesqueTheBstard, what a lovely thing to say. I feel the same way too.
@moolady1977, it's a tough time losing a much-loved pet. My own personal view is that if people have souls or spirits in some form, animals have too.
Your DPs did the kindest thing. Thanks

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 03/12/2021 21:58

I believe it wholeheartedly mineofuselessinformation

It is the price we pay for love. You don’t feel that sorrow if you didn’t feel the love.

It is the ultimate price to pay but one that is worth it.

It just doesn’t feel like it when the loss is so raw. 🌻

moolady1977 · 03/12/2021 22:55

My furry dsis was only 7 so it was totally heartbreaking as up to this she had no major health issues . We picked her up today from a beautiful little pet crematorium in the middle of the countryside she was in a beautiful pine box with her name engraved on it and a lovely little card all about her and who she was leaving behind , the lady who has the place was absolutely wonderful and even though it sounds crazy she had a beautiful personality . So yes Nellie dog is now home back where she belongs and my dmum has spent all afternoon talking to her , thankyou all for your kind words

I had to have my darling westie put to sleep today. I am heartbroken.
She had cancer and deteriorated significantly over the weekend.
I can't get used to her not following me around, not hearing the patter of her feet on the wooden floor. I keep crying when I think I don't have any tears left, I cry some more.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 06/12/2021 21:48

I’m so sorry didge

The emptiness of a home after a pet dies hits you hard.

You did the most beautiful and loving thing letting her go. A gracious and unselfish act of love 🌻 x 🐾 🐾

moolady1977 · 06/12/2021 23:12

@DidgeDoolittle my heart goes out to you tonight but you did the most kindest living thing you can do for your westie

My lovely Milliemoo left this world in 2019 . I definitely know it was the right decision I made that day but can honestly say I am still so sad 😞

DidgeDoolittle · 06/12/2021 23:34

Thank you. I know it was absolutely the kindest thing to do. It doesn't make it any easier though does it.
