Leaving Puppy Alone

Our Lab pup is 5 months old and I currently leave him for about an hour on his own in the kitchen so I can do a shop etc.

What increments should I start to increase this? What is the recommended amount of time for a puppy his age to be left alone?

He seems happy to be left and is always asleep on my return with no presents on the kitchen floor.

I would start by increasing it by maybe 10-15 minutes or so as he seems very happy to be left for an hour at the moment.

I'd say at five months, a couple of hours is reasonable before they might need company or the toilet, although some can of course be left longer.
