Screaming in the night

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

Over the past 2 months ddog has woken us screaming in the night on two occasions. He sleeps in his own comfy bed overnight in the living room (his choice, he is more than welcome in with us) and so at hearing the scream from the living room we immediately wake/run in.

Both times it's happened it appears we have woken him by barrelling in there, he looks about sleepily for a bit, enjoys a cuddle and will take a treat if offered (then tries for more!) So don't feel like it is seizure behaviour (he had a couple a few years back and took ages to come around, presented very differently).

Any experience on this? We moved house around a year ago and now I am (possibly irrationally?) concerned there's some paranormal activity upsetting him - hence my 4am post unable to get back to sleep! He's a rescue with a previously difficult life but has been with us over 5 years and never 'nightmares' before now. Very worried about him, he's now snoozing merrily again but I'm left sleepless.

Ideas?

I would put a doggy camera up with night vision so you can see what's triggering it.

Dream I suspect, they can have bad ones too. My ddog has a dog form of ptsd from a car accident
