Swollen nipples

Our lovely dog started her season about 6 weeks ago. All done and dusted now but her nipples are still pretty swollen. How long do they usually take to go down? She is well in herself and everything else is back to normal.

Our ddogs nipples never returned to their pre-season size. According to the vet this is quite normal.
Was it her first season?

Ah thank you. I wondered. Yes her first season. The area around the nipple seems larger and slightly swollen too. Have left a message for the vet too just to double check .

She's just done puberty so now you have adult female nipples rather than cute little puppy ones.
Watch out for a phantom pregnancy , this usually kicks in about 9 weeks after their season. Doesn't happen to every dog, thankfully.
