Why does my puppy spend so much time trying to pick up two things at once?

She's a 15 week old collie/lab cross and there's nothing she likes more than to carry stuff around the house and stash it in her bed (I have to clear out her stash of twigs and leaves and toys and random bits of paper daily ). For the last couple of weeks though, she's spent ages trying to pick up a toy and her blanket, or two toys at once. You can practically see the cogs turning as she tries and tries different ways to pick them up together. Her face the other day when I threaded her blanket through her tyre-shaped-toy so she could take them both off for a victory lap of the living room was pure delight!

I don't mind and it's funny to watch, but why?

Wait for the delight when she's older and realises she can do three.

Ah we've got a 6 month collie and he does this!. He now wraps a tennis ball in his towel and drags it round the room 🙈. He also carrys 2 rubber bones, 2 chews and tries his hardest with 2 balls.
I wish i undetstood why!

Oh bless her. My 1 yr old cocker can just about manage 2 things 😂 i love watching them doing their thing though... My boy will occupy himself for ages in the garden/indoors with a toy, finding the optimum place to hide it. After a while ill say "Where's ducky? Find it!" or whatever hes hidden and off he goes to get it. He comes back wagging and you can see the pride in him that he found the toy he hid mere minutes ago 😂 adorable!
