Dog not eating

I just want to preface this by saying, my dog has done this 4/5 times before and she's 2.5yo so I suppose normally we wouldn't worry, but she got sick a few months ago and we just thought she was coming into season, we went on holiday and left her with family who picked up that she really wasn't right, it turned out she had a grass seed. She was ok, but had to have antibiotics etc. I felt absolutely awful for not realising. She also had kennel cough before that, I also didn't realise right away! Feel like such a bad dog parent.

So for the last week and a half she's been a bit funny with her food, normally she wolfs everything down (she's a Labrador) but she's suddenly being picky about her biscuits. Alongside this she has been protective of her bed and growling at the cats when they walk by her at her biscuit bowl or when she's sitting in her bed (cats are a bit puzzled and not interested in these things? They scurry away). After a few days we got her some different flavoured biscuits same brand but smaller biscuits, she started eating normally again for a couple of days then back to before.

Do you think she's just going through something emotionally or could we be missing something again?

She's our first dog, so we don't always know what to look out for. Thanks for any advice.

Is she neutered? She might be having a phantom pregnancy if she is being protective. But to be honest, your best bet is the vet, no-one can really advise over the internet as so many symptoms could be indicative of several things especially with emotional issues. What makes you think it might be emotional, has something occurred that made you think it might be?

Have you had tests for pancreatitis?

She needs to see a vet.

Any change in behaviour that doesn't have a logical explanation needs checking out. Dogs are very good at disguising the fact that they're in pain.

I had never heard of this in dogs, no she's not spayed and she finished her last season about 4-5 weeks ago. That would make sense because she has done this before...

She ate all her dinner last night and this morning. Now she's decided that the lounge light isn't to be trusted and keeps looking at it suspiciously and even growled at it yesterday??

I spoke to my partner and if she isn't eating with her normal enthusiasm by Monday we will take her to the vets. It's all very odd though, when we walk her she is running like a loon and seems perfectly fine? But I agree better to be safe
