Carpet woes - advice please!

Hi

One of our rescue dogs wees on our sitting room carpet from time to time - not sure which dog and there seems to be no pattern or reasons for the accidents.

Anyway, I have become a master at cleaning carpet! However, one stain is defeating me and is getting yellower by the day. I suspect that what I am seeing now is down to cleaning products and not dog wee! I have tried various products and diluted vinegar and baking soda. I have a carpet cleaner. I swear that each attempt to remove the mark is making it go yellower!

The carpet is cream wool.

Any advice or wisdom?

Do you have, or could you borrow a Bissell spot cleaner (or similar)?

Make sure the carpet is completely dry and well hoovere (and perhaps go over with a stiff brush too).

Don't use too much carpet shampoo (or bio laundry liquid) in the machines tank - less is definitely more! Ditto the number of passes over the area - don't soak the area, and so it more than one, letting it dry thoroughly between each time.

Or if it really is an indelible stain (and therefore won't smell), get a rug!

Are you using proper pet urine remover?

Yes if you've tried the targeted stain remover and steam cleaning, time for a rug!
