How does your dog react to sneezes?

My dog is weird, if I sneeze he doesn't react in any way, just carries on snoozing. If my DH sneezes he will leap up, even from a deep sleep, and be hyper alert and a bit scared for about 10 seconds. Then he'll realise that there's no danger and settle down again. Back when we had au pairs, the dog was lying under the table while we were eating and our au pair sneezed. The dog shot out from under the table and into his crate where he hid at the back. Admittedly the au pair is a big guy and it was a big sneeze, even I jumped a little, but the dog was genuinely very scared and wouldn't come out of his crate for ages.

I sneeze more often than DH but I don't think they sound significantly different to his. The dog is generally quite non-reactive to noise, they were letting off fireworks around here for Halloween and he barely flicked an ear at the noise.

I rarely sneeze but when I do, dog will come over to me, wagging his tail. He either thinks it's playtime, or he's checking on me, not sure which! I guess female sneezes are more high-pitched, so dog associates that with other high-pitched noises like 'fun' cues.

No reaction from sneezes from my dog, but if someone coughs he has to make sure we are okay. He looks all concerned and comes over to check on us. If we are standing he jumps up to make sure all is okay and the cough isn't deadly. He must believe he has saved us many times from sudden death.

Mine acts on high alert and often comes right up to your face if lying down as if to say 'what is the emergency!'

When he sneezes he is like 'what's the issue, it's just a sneeze' Hmm

Mine sneezes quite a bit too BiteyShark. He loves tummy rubs and when he turns right-side-up again he often sneezes, sometimes onto me if I don't move away quickly enough. Like your dog he feels that this is not a big deal at all.

Aww! He looks so sweet, op. How dare people scare him with massive explosive sneezes! My Dh is a ‘wtaf’ sneezer (as I have dubbed him). His explosions come from nowhere. Not even a preparatory ‘aah, aah..’ before the sonic boom…

Tell your DH to stop sneezing and scaring such a lovely little pupper!

Mine jumps up and gives me a kiss to make sure I'm ok (I assume), although he may well be licking the devil away Grin

Ours used to politely walk out the room when I sneezed Confused

Mine will sit up on high alert and stare at me for a bit.

I can't decide if she's offended, alarmed or irritated by it. I'm not a particularly loud sneezer but she always has the same reaction.
