I really need some recommendations, sick of dubiously waterproof trainers that don't see out a year... Looking at you, mountain warehouse.

I recently bought some Joseph Siebel waterproof boots from John Lewis as town alternative to the Scarpa walking boots I wear on hikes in the country.
Really love them and they are very supportive.

Muck boots

Those are also beautiful @Quickchangeartiste, I do like a stylish yet practical item! How does the fit come up?

I have fairly narrow feet and high insteps and they are good for me. Lengthwise they are pretty standard ( I wear a 5 with wool socks) .They are ‘daintier’ than a walking boot or a trainer if that makes sense.

I have the “Chore” model, and wear them year round, with wooly socks in the snow. My friend has the “Arctic” ones, which are toasty all winter, but too warm for summer.

If you can afford it then I love the “Keen” brand from USA. Can’t get them in Cotswold Outdoors but you can also find good bargains on eBay sometimes.
If budget doesn’t stretch to that then has to be Decathlon for me. Fab outdoors shoes.

I got waterproof walking boots....although they are more shoes height than boot
Very comfortable

Aigle neoprene lined wellies.... Awesome. Think you can get them in decathlon.

Or Berghaus gortex walking boots. Don't need broken in, good waterproofing that you can top up with spray. Bloody expensive, worth every penny, my last pair posted lasted hundreds of miles of hard wear
