The best dog treat for the best dog please??

And don't any of you pretend that your dog is the best because I know mine is!!

We all have covid and are in isolation and I wanted to give the dog a nice treat to keep him occupied whilst we're all stuck indoors.

The rules are that a photo is necessary for questions to be answered,and rules are rules.

Whilst waiting, I'll answer but only as covid can be rubbish.

Basically you're looking at enrichment games,toys or treats.
These entail your dog using his brain to gain reward.

I use a raw marrow bone daily or Nina Ottosson games which contain my dog's meal and the puzzle has to be solved to release his kibble.

Some people throw kibble around their garden,hide the food around the house or use Kong toys. I'm sure if you search enrichment games there's many more suggestions out there.

Mine would say the best treats are cheesy nibbles.

However, he is very fond of a kong filled with peanut butter, cream cheese and some fruit/meat/anything else and frozen.

Cheesy nibbles are the devils work. Never put them in a tin and leave them on the side in summer or when you open them you may well vomit.

Also my dog is the best dog. She likes night time treats with camomile in and to listen to classical FM when she goes to sleep. She also loves a load of biscuits stuffed into a kong. Who doesn’t?

Obviously you are all wrong as my puppy is best.
He loves a frozen stuffed Kong, his gyro ball with kibble, a snuffle mat or his tennis ball treat machine to keep his brain busy

If you need something to keep him occupied, the Nina Ottosson puzzle feeders are great. You can pop some of his regular food, or peanut butter / treats / yoghurt / banana etc in there and let him work out how to snuffle it out.

Otherwise an ostrich bone has been a big hit with our Definitely-Not-The-Best-Dog-Right-Now adolescent hound. Plus its super light, so if you accidentally kick it, it doesn't hurt (unlike bloody knucklebones)

Thanks so much for all the recommends, his kong has gone walkabouts but I really should look a bit harder or buy a new one. I am also definitely getting a large trex ostrich bone. I've never heard or seen them before and I know he will love it!

Will provide pupdates, and when I feel a bit better will start working with him a bit more to entertain his brain. Bless him I fell asleep in a covid fog and he stayed with me the whole time, and woke up with me at 3am happy as larry and ready for his dinner, only 10 hours late

Ours still likes little bits of cheese warped in newspaper in a box and snuffles them out. Even though she’s 2 and a big girl now.

That photo was actually of a cow ear, but stuffed hoof is definitely he favourite!

Once he's older and starts chewing the hoof you'll find out they stink so much it'll make your eyes water!

I'll only buy these in summer when dd can be outside with it and he's definitely not allowed to bring it in.
