Best wormer

Hoping someone can help.

What's the best wormer to buy either online or at a pet store? I've always just got it from the vet but can't do that right now and don't know what to buy.

Does your dog have worms? We worm count, haven’t ever had a positive result (as in he has never actually had worms to require worming).

Drontal. I used to buy it from the vet but it's cheaper on Amazon.

@sewinginmyfreetime I don't know for sure yet if he has worms but for a few days/a week now he has been licking like crazy and doing the odd scootch. At first I thought he was trying to empty his glands but it seems excessive, plus he chased and briefly caught a rat the other week which I understand can transfer.
