Picking up our newest addition next weekend, 1st generation sprocker puppy.
We have done lots of research but what do you wish you’d known?

I’m under no illusion this will be hard work but we can’t wait for her to arrive!

We plan to use a local trainer to help too but any tips and advice welcomed Smile

I wish I’d known how guilty I would feel after he passed away for caring about pet hair and skid marks as he grew older.

It’s harrowing now.
11 years and he’s gone.

Just squeeze them a little tighter every night and play with them always. They don’t last long enough.

Not to get up at night. On night five we got up six times. Was in tears with tiredness. A drop of wee does necessitate a trip to the garden.

That if you put the work in you don't need puppy classes. I didn't take mine and she is known for being a very well behaved , gentle well trained dog. I run past dog training and it always sounds so brutal and uncaring.

What SunshineCake1 said.
I slept downstairs next to our pup for the first 3 weeks and should have just done the first night.

Now, I get a full night's sleep and come down to a couple of presents on the kitchen floor but he's housetrained in the day so I know it will all come together eventually.

I can't cope with very little sleep!

I'm still on the sofa with 22 week old puppy. He cannot sleep alone. Sometimes it's just bad luck or due to the breed.
Also our puppy classes are lovely. Definitely not brutal or uncaring, that sounds incredibly unusual?

Basically it's like having a baby everyone has an opinion but you will get to know your dog.

DTAS on fb. BrilliNt kind helpful advice. Free or a paid for puppy club.
Take LOADS of pics. They grow up too fast…

That he will choose to urinate over every one of the children's toys in the garden and in the summer these turn into concentrated puddles of stinking dog piss
