When not asleep or out walking? Ours likes to chew, dig and generally demand attention!

My two play with each other (a LOT, chase, tuggy, keep away), sunbathe in season, bask in front of the fire in season, bark at the doorbell, and hang around my feet when I'm cooking. One of them is also very keen on carrying things around the house - socks, shoes, the newspaper, knackered dog toys.

They do a very good line in being apparently completely asleep, but coming to life the instant I pick up the car key two rooms away.

@CMOTDibbler mine thinks she's a lurcher type of some sort (only weighs 6kg) needs to sleep as much as possible and when it's wet or cold is incapable of leaving the house!

These replies are making me laugh. Mine is ALWAYS on the look out for food - a great counter surfer if ever there was one. If he has any other ‘free’ moments those are spent biting and chewing the thing you’d least like him to bite and chew. Uncanny how they know that.

Mine will try to destroy her squeaky squirrel toys, sit by the window and watch the world go by - often sensing a threat in children calmly walking past or a car pulling out of a garage so naturally will have to bark at the top of her voice. I'll give her a Kong toy stuffed with peanut butter or a lick mat with peanut butter when she's getting a bit too boisterous to calm her down. She'll also try and open the bedroom doors (50% success rate) to go and find socks or heads into the bathrooms to grab a toilet roll to destroy. Hovering around me while I cook in the hope of some food, trying to pull my sons socks off his feet.... Putting the ball by my feet so I spend 20 minutes throwing the ball down the corridor for her. Lots of sleep too although usually in short bursts until 8pm when she manages to properly rest. Nearly a year old so still in the puppy stage and needing a lot of attention/play at times to stave off the cheeky behaviour!

My dog loves food. So whenever he smells food, he comes running. He also barks whenever someone comes to the house, his senses are on high alert then. His favorite activity however is to search for food daily.

Mine is the same Grin

He is an expert at feigning sleep and hearing a packet rustle from several rooms away!
