Waterproof walking trousers

It has barely stopped raining here for about a week, I need help!
I’m looking for proper, waterproof (not water-repellant or water-resistant) trousers, but ideally I want a fairly slim fit, lined type that I can wear on their own. As opposed to the baggy, rustly over trouser type.
All the ones I’ve seen like this don’t seem to be fully waterproof. I’ve had some that say water resistant but in very wet weather my thighs end up soaked where the water has run off my jacket.
Any success stories greatly appreciated before I give up and resort to sweating and rustling about in the traditional type!

I should add I’m only 5’2” so that is an added problem!

Ah I had a pair of those. Loved them, but ended up sending them back as they pilled/bobbled really badly between my thighs after a couple of wears, which I didn’t think was good for something so expensive.

Yes - if they go in the sale they'll have around 20-30% off hopefully they may only reduce one colour but it's worth keeping an eye out.

I've had mine four years and they're still as waterproof as ever.

Second Rohan - they make great outdoors kit but I tend to buy mine secondhand on eBay. You could also try some cycle trousers - they tend to be more fitted and you can get over trousers or proper trousers. Rapha, DHB, vulpine all good quality - again, can be £££ but keep an eye out for sales/eBay. A lot of good cycle gear is great as 'day to day' waterproof gear as fitted more to the body and designed to withstand a lot of use and movement.

Hadn’t thought about cycle trousers, good idea! I used to work with race horses and had a great pair designed for that, but sadly that was a looong time ago when I was thinner!
I normally use tech wash for jackets, so I assume it’s the same for trousers? Though I have found it doesn’t really get things properly clean.

I have a few pairs gelert or tresspass. They are only cheap but work.

I have a fabulous pair of Gelert walking trousers that aren't technically waterproof but they dry from fully soaked to bone dry in about 30 mins. They are amazing, and they have loads of pockets.

@icedcoffees oh they would be, I bought a different pair now! I figured they would still be too expensive really even in the sale! I got some Sprayway ones, only worn them once but they seem good.

I just bought the Regatta waterproof, £26 and got to test them yesterday as caught in rain shower and I stayed completely dried. They are so comfortable and fit perfectly so ordered a second pair.
