Wet muddy morning walks are here and this year we have a new pale carpet Shock
We usually towel dry but doesn't get all of the mud and muck off. Are any of the paw cleaning devices available any good?
DDog hates bathing / showering

Grin not sure what breed you have, but I found that "Poodle Feet" have reduced the amount of muck and dirt in my home.

but realistically you need to get some brown paint dip DDogs paws in it and let the creative side take over!

Unhelpfully, I haven't tried it yet, but I picked this up in B&M yesterday. Worth a try for £2.

Mine has a shaggy tummy so no choice to be rinsed off in the bath after every walk, but at least this should take the worst off her feet to get up there.

You can also get dog paw wipes, but they aren't that great.

In the past I've used a dedicated washing up bowl with warm water to individually bath each foot.

Thanks, I've ordered one to give it a try. He's a scruffy rescue but think he's definitely got a bit of poodle heritage. What is / are poodle feet?!

I just do them with wet wipes , sometimes it takes quite a few but it’s quick and easy to do in the porch .

These are Poodle Feet! Mine are cut a bit higher- about 1 inch above the wrist. Their long coat falls over most of the paws.
They also scoop out the fur between the pads.

PS: mine are long cated and need regular grooming.

Watering can of warm water over legs and belly, and a quick towel dry before going inside.

Powertothepetal · 21/09/2021 16:45

One of mine is long haired, I find cutting off as much of the fur as possible from around the pads, keeping the nails short and the belly shaved helps a lot

I have a paw plunger which works quite well.

I also in the black Friday sales last year bought a mud daddy - excessive for a paw washer, but super handy for muddy walks in general.

Thanks for the info. Paw cleaner works well and DDog tolerates it surprisingly well. His leg fur isn't very long so I think the poodle feet would look rather peculiarGrin

I just put a bowl of hot soapy water near the door . It’s cooled off by the time we return & I paddle each of their feet in it then dry them with an old towel
