We have had our pup for 6 months now and she sheds lots of hair, she's golden/red/white, she's been groomed twice, I comb her a couple of times a week, I'm hoovering daily but there's still hair everywhere, I havent worn black trousers since we got her and the kids uniform gets hairy, how do I avoid us all leaving the house covered in her hair?

You don’t. You embrace the hair. It is now a part of your life

If you have a Husky op then good luck.
Ours is nearly 8 and I can't describe how hairy our home currently is..

You don't. We have a fox Red lab and a black lab. The fox Red is curly so it gathers in balls in corners. The black lab sheds hair like confetti over every surface.

The children don't hug the dogs before school.

I had a black dog before and it wasn't as bad but think I'm kidding myself and it just wasn't as noticeable, she's not a husky no idea what she is she's a Romania rescue/heinz 57

I’ve recently bought a dog hair shedding tool which really does seem to help with my goldies. I also brush them every day. Apart from that I seem to be permanently attached to my shark hoover 😂

I get mine groomed every 6 weeks to keep his hair short and i've got a robot vacuum that i send round every day.

This. We have a white dog and a black dog, no matter what I wear dog hair is showing. We have lint rollers and the kids roll themselves down before school which helps some.

Black lab owner here - HAIRS. HAIRS EVERYWHERE. Lint roller at the door and in handbag and in office. And this has made the job of clearing them up (tiles and hardwood floors) easier www.ocado.com/products/spontex-catch-clean-broom-dustpan-512696011?gclid=Cj0KCQjwv5uKBhD6ARIsAGv9a-xVAI0Q-KoCFJQlDFeDBiouXouom3sS7gW_2lc1Kd7QBKtn2ddA3scaAqjSEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds and I've got a handheld rubber dustpan and brush for the carpeted stairs because even though the hairy little blighter doesn't go up the stairs his hairs are EVERYWHERE and I use the rubber brush before vacuuming and much more effective.

Our rescue lurcher - who I naively thought was a very light shedder for the first few months we had her - started shedding in a BIG way as the weather got warmer this summer. I was hoovering twice a day, but there was still hair EVERYWHERE.

It's fortunately stopped now, but for a while this Groomi tool saved us from drowing in hair.

I was dubious, as it was a depseration buy after seeing it advertised on facebook - but it is very very good. We combed her once a day (outside) with it - the amount of hair that came out compared to other brushes was incredible, and it didn't pull or cause any discomfort - it only collects the loose hair, and our lurcher actually really enjoyed it.

Brollywasntneededafterall · 20/09/2021 12:27

Lurcher you say???

PermanentlyDizzy · 20/09/2021 14:35

I use a Groomi on my Lurcher as well. He is a one dog Furnado and it really reduces the amount of fur in he spreads liberally around the place. He seems to like it too, as he always falls asleep when I’m using it. Before we had the Groomi we used a Zoom Groom, but the newer version doesn’t seem to suit his coat. A rubber curry comb is another option. Once a week, give them a good going over with any of the above in the garden and it will really help.

We also keep one of these by the front door and in both cars, so we can defluff when we go out.

Our boy doesn’t go upstairs, so we tend to change as soon as we get home and only put on our Sunday best or black/navy clothes just before we go out.

Just sitting here looking at my living room carpet, which has a whole dog-fur rug on top, as I wasn’t able to groom him this weekend, can’t vacuum due to a neck injury and dh has been too busy today. Hmm
