Wet food / dry food / mix it up

We have fed pup dry food from the start and she eats but I was wondering if I should mix it up and give her wet food occasionally?

I usually use a small amount of wet food to make a gravy - just to moisten the kibble a bit. I don’t think there’s any need to though, if your dog is happy to eat dry food by itself. What has made you think you should “mix it up”?

Mine gets dry food everyday but always mixed with something. Either wet food or a mix of human food - fish, eggs, meat, fruit or veggies. I wouldn't want to eat the same meal every day so I like to mix things up.

We add a tin of sardines once a week and the rest of the week she either has half a tin of wet food or something left over from our meal like steamed veggies.
I'm sure she'd eat just kibble but it must get boring.

Mine gets a mix of wet and dry at every meal.

A diet of dry biscuits must be so boring.

I use wet food in kongs and on lickimats.

Wet and dry mixed up here. Then additional things during the week such as sardines, an egg, some carrots or apple etc.

We feed raw as much nicer for them and so good for them and much smaller poos.

We feed dried kibble but add vegetables to add interest. Cooked carrot, frozen peas (straight from freezer) are the usual, but most dog friendly veg and sometimes fruit goes down well.

Thanks everyone. Will start mixing it up a bit more!

When people say egg is that raw egg??

I add raw egg but they can have them cooked too! Mine loves scrambled eggs or boiled eggs Grin

Florin · 06/09/2021 19:41

Or for a bit of a puzzle too give them a raw egg in the shell, highly recommend doing this outside as obviously the moment they work out how to crack it it can be messy 😆

Blessex · 06/09/2021 20:53

Scrambled and poached egg. I hadn’t thought of giving them raw. Is that ok? Am still haunted by edwina currie!!!

Oh I sometimes give him a little cheese too. Everything in small doses. Little treats when he is good.
