After lungworm, what treatments do you give regularly so no repeat problems

Our working cocker spaniel (2yrs in Sept) had lungworm diagnosed in July.
It was all a little bit scary as she had a dislocated shoulder at the same time and bled for 72 hours from a 1 mm cut in her tongue - all while we were on holiday.
Treated with panacur and all better.
She gets Advocate Spot On monthly now.
Just wondered what everyone else who had been in this position used as meds. I will chat it through with our vet after the holidays, but rubbing the spot on into her neck just doesn't seem like a treatment.

Never had lungworm but I use nexgard spectra monthly tablet which covers worms including lungworm, ticks and fleas.

Thanks,Bitey, will explore that option ... is it expensive? I think I'm paying £20/month for the Advocate

Hmm not sure on the cost as I get all of the treatment as part of my vets monthly plan. I did used to have advocate but my dog wouldn't settle afterwards as I think the smell upset him but the tablets are fine and I like that it covers ticks and fleas as well.

Check with your vet whether the spot-on deals with lungworm. My dog has Milpro tablets every other month from March to November. I think, but I'm not sure, that Bravecto covers for it too and it isn't so often. You can't stop them getting worms but you can stop them developing and causing a problem.

Advocate treats lungworm.

My dog has milpro every 4 weeks for covering lungworm , as far as I’m aware he’s never had it , he’s always had the treatment . He has bravecto every 3 months as well and it’s all covered on his vet plan ( 16.99 per month ) . I know of 2 dogs that live within 1/2 mile of us that have had lungworm , one is an elderly Labrador who has been very ill .

Thanks all, I'll ask my vet about all these different names and see if we get something else, possibly within a plan. My last cocker who got PTS in May only went to the vets once a year for annual boosters but this little cocker virtually lives there.
