Sore paws

2 year old Jack Russell has sore paws.
The soreness is from him kicking and maybe pulling the fur out himself. It's been happening over the last 4-6 weeks.
He is walked in the same areas as before on grass and concrete.

Nothing new around the home and garden is being used such as washing powder. There is no visible grass seeds or cuts.

Any ideas before I take him to the vet?

Oh my that looks really painful. I would go straight to the vets.

Could he have walked over some chemicals outside?

Sore paws from incessant licking is often due to an allergy.
I would discuss it with your vet first.

Our dog has allergies we've had to change his food and also give a piriton at times.

Definitely vet. Look like an allergy.
Have you cleaned your carpets or used a new floor cleaner ?

It's Berry bug season, could be that? Or another allergy, or exposure to a substance of some sort. Regardless he needs to see a vet for treatment, they look sore.
