Tips for getting puppy to drink more

We have had our puppy for 5 weeks now and he doesn't seem to drink much.

He has a bowl next to his biscuits which he occasionally licks but only once a day and only for a few seconds.

There's an old seed tray in our garden which he will drink out of more often but its still only for a few seconds.

He will try and drink water if the DCs pour it from a plastic bottle but he can't quite get the hang of it.

Does anyone have any tips for encouraging drinking?

I wouldn't worry too much.
He will drink when he is Thirsty he will figure it out .

Our pup loves an ice cube to crunch

Ice cube definitely. Our dog licks it like an ice cream

Thank you
I know everyone says he will drink when he is thirsty but he doesn't seem bothered and he doesn't drink any more when it's hot.

Thank you we tried the ice cubes and loved them. The bowl looks really good too.

I just posted on another thread that ddog won't drink tap water. He likes puddles etc but I but bottled water for him because it's cleaner (no lung worm). I agree it sounds ridiculous but I guess he can smell the chlorine in it?

I know it might be considered a bit daddy but puppy milk? You can buy it in pet shops. Just a teaspoon in the bowl of water. When I worry about my adult dogs when it's really hot a drop a splash of milk in their huge bowl of water and they lap it up.

Some dogs like very fresh water and refuse water that has been there a while. Worth a try.
