How did you manage with a dog and a baby? Dog is a lab (just turned one) and is a clumsy yob who likes to destroy things. Baby is 6 months old and is starting to crawl and anything and everything goes in the mouth.

Any ideas?! Grin

Stair gates are your friend!

Beig ultra organised and not leaving anything lying around for either the dog or the baby to pick up.

This too will pass (eventually)

Second stair gates everywhere. Also, resign yourself to your baby getting covered in dog hair and remind yourself it's good for the immune system.

Keep them separated where possible (baby gates) and make sure everything breakable or dangerous is kept out of both their reaches.

They surprised me all the time. I had a big dog at the time, DS is grown up now. Right from me bringing him home my dog used to sit & guard wherever he was. He learned to stand by hauling himself up, pulling on the dogs hairy coat, then my dog used to walk very slowly as DS learned to walk, hanging onto his coat.
Then we got the Ben Hur chariot races. Hmm We had a really long hall with a flagged floor, old house. They used to charge up & down with son in his wheeled baby walker, squealing with glee, holding onto the long fur on dog’s bum. Best friends doesn’t come close.
