Am I getting my puppy too late?

I'm picking my puppy at ten weeks old. Is that ok? Should I get him sooner? Keep being told by people that I should get him sooner, what's the best thing to do?
Arranged this date and was quite happy, breeder is taking him for all his jabs first.

It's like having a baby isn't it, everyone has an opinion!

10 is better than 8 for sure. Assuming decent breeder and spending those 2 weeks with its mum of course!
